Community Facility and Activity Programme
WREXHAM COMMUNITY FACILITIES AND ACTIVITIES PROGRAMME
AVOW has been successful in obtaining £60,000 to run a grant scheme for 2011 for the provision of funding to voluntary and community organisations operating in and for the benefit of the communities and people of Wrexham County Borough. The Welsh Assembly Government, Community Facilities and Activities Programme (CFAP) have provided the funding and the grant scheme will be called the Wrexham Community Facilities and Activities Fund.(WCF&AP)
AVOW has over the past three years distributed £300,000 to a wide variety of organisations. The beneficiaries have been organisations operating across the entire voluntary and community sector. The scheme is generally oversubscribed but it is hoped that all voluntary and community organisations, including those organisations that have been unsuccessful in the past will take the opportunity to apply, however under the conditions of the new scheme only capital projects are eligible to receive funding.
The grants scheme will provide grants up to a maximum of £4,000.
Funding is available for voluntary/community organisations for schemes such as:-
-
creating new facilities
-
refurbishment of existing facilities
-
providing toilets for the disabled
-
providing access for the disabled
-
improvements to built or natural environment
-
help/equipment provided for community/social economy businesses.
