What is available?
Free Carers Information Pack
To receive your free copy of the Carers Information Pack all you have to do is register with Wrexham Carers Service (Please see ‘How do I register?’ for more information).
The Carers Information Pack contains lots of useful information that may come in handy whether you are new to caring or have been in a caring role for some time. It includes details about Carers Assesments, Training opportunities, Getting help from your GP, Money matters and a useful list of contact details for other services / organisations that are available to help you in your role as a Carer.

Regular Support Groups
'Young Adult Carers'
Are you a carer aged 18-25 years old? If yes, you should come along to the Young Adult Carer Group. It's a chance to meet others in an informal, friendly and relaxed atmosphere..please note the group meets monthly but the venues/times may change so please phone us if you would like to find out when and where the group will be meeting next.
The group has just been set-up so we are looking for new ideas about what we can do next; trips, talks etc, so please do not hesitate to get in touch or come along...the more the merrier!

‘Carers of Young Adults with Disabilities’
This is a new group for people who support young adults with disabilities.

'Parent Carer Support Group'Do you care for your son, daughter or grandchild?
If yes, then the Parent Carer Support Group is for you!
In conjunction with Plas Madoc Communities First Team we are now able to offer the Parent Carer Support Group. Come along and talk to other parent carers in a relaxed and friendly environment. If you would like any further information about the Parent Carer Support Group please do not hesitate to get in touch.
'Former Carers Group'
This is a new group for those of you who are no longer in a caring role, giving you the oppurtunity to meet people in similar situations to yourself, socialise and discuss ideas for future groups.
This will take place on Tuesday 25th October 2011 at 1:00pm - 2:30pm at The Gallery Coffee Shop, Chetser Street, Wrexham.

'Carers of Substance Misusers Support Group'
This group offers advice, information and support to people who specifically look after those with alcohol or drug related problems.
When: 4:00 -6:00pm Tuesday 25th October 2011 and Tuesday 22nd November 2011
Where: AVOW, 21 Egerton Street, Wrexham, LL11 1ND
Drop-in
Call in and see us for a chat, information, advice and support. There is no need for an appointment...Just drop-in!
When: Every Monday (excluding bank holidays) Time: 10am-12pm
Free Counselling Session for Carers1-2-1 counselling sessions are provided free of charge in a calm, friendly and private environment.
The counsellor will not give you any advice or tell you what to do; they will listen and help you explore your own feelings about about things that you choose to talk about in the sessions.
When: Every Friday Time: 9.30am-12.30pm
Please Note: appointments are needed to attend these sessions. Contact us at Wrexham Carers Service to arrange an appointment.
Therapy Sessions
Carers can enjoy a 30-minute relaxation with The British Red Cross Therapeutic Care Session consisting of:
- Hand care and hand massage or a
- Neck and shoulder massage, given through clothing.
This simple combination is very enjoyable as well as beneficial and provides a gentle, comforting treatment if you are feeling anxious, tense or unwell.
Reflexology
We also offer free 1 hour reflexology sessions. Reflexology improves the body's circulation and eliminates waste products and toxins by applying pressure to certain areas of the feet. It can help reduce stress and stressed related conditions and is a great way to relax.
